     The revolution of technologies has been speeding up for decades that enables work to be finished in no time. This breakthrough captures significant impacts to a range of different fields such as the fields of science, communications, transportations and others. The development of technologies has covered an incredibly broad range whereas it was able to reach unexpected industries such as the shopping industry.

     Since the 2008 global financial crisis, Adidas found the need to develop a digital interactive shopping experience to gain a competitive advantage over their competitors. Maximizing the technology available, Adidas partnered with Intel to develop the adiVerse virtual footwear wall. It is a life-sized touch screen catalogue featuring 8000+ shoes of Adidas which enables the customers to view the shoes from any angle. Also, information, recommendation and background of each shoe are available.

     AdiVerse has the capability to detect the gender of the customer approaching the adiVerse virtual wall and it aids the customer on finding the perfect shoe that will suffice the customer’s needs. The customer could also check the whole range of shoes offered on the virtual wall. All of these are made possible through the use of multiple LCD screens which are powered by 2nd generation Intel Core i7 processors that can deliver visually smart performance. It also provides the customers to see what other people are saying about the product via social networking sites. 

     AdiVerse conveniently helps shoppers look for different color ways and sizes of the shoes that they want or have in mind. With the help of adiVerse, shoppers can browse through thousands of shoes with just a swipe of their fingers. A well-known brand like Adidas will have to try and compete with other brands so as to keep their customers and gain profit. AdiVerse is a virtual experience no one has ever seen before because of its life size touchable screen. Also, adiVerse will lessen the work of employees in stores because instead of having a lot of employees to cater to a lot of customers, shoppers can go to adiVerse and look for the specific shoe that they want without going through any trouble of explaining to employees. Shoppers can choose what they want, find the store nearest them that has the shoe through small tablets and check out and buy the product with just a swipe of their fingers. 

     Competition of businesses is always on the rim. Therefore, innovation takes a very important role in providing a business a competitive edge. For Adidas, adiVerse was their strategic plan for them to improve and gain advantage. While other retailers of other brands offer limited designs, with adiVerse, Adidas was able to offer their customers a wide range of designs wherein retailers of Adidas can act just like a mother ship store. The utilization of such development entails that we are now living in a world of endless possibilities.
