The company behind this site was called Melodis Corporation and started in 2004 by Keyvan Mohajer. It was in May 2010 that the company was renamed to Soundhound, Inc. WHAT'S SPECIAL ABOUT THIS APP
This mobile service app uses a Sound2Sound (S2S) technology that elevates user experience of sound recognition. This revolutionary technology is responsible for the fast and accurate recognition of various sound inputs such as music and speech. It is an amazing breakthrough of Soundhound, Inc. wherein poorly-hummed performances can still be matched to professional tracks. Also, it is possible to speak or type the song or the artist. More than that, the Live Lyrics function allows users to see lyrics to move in time with the music. It’s also amazing how users can double-tap into the lyrics so that music can play in that point of the song. It is also possible to play a track in the music library of the device and lyrics will show up if currently available.
The Soundhound Headlines is one feature of this app that offers users free streams of music, discover more of new artists and their biographies, and more news. Moreover, this app links to Youtube videos related to the songs, links to iTunes, and other recommendations of other songs. It also allows sharing in social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. Recently, more features were added wherein users can sync, save, and transfer music search and discovery history across multiple devices and in the cloud. Also, users can track song evolution through an option to tap to see the tracks from which the song was sampled, remixed or covered. Another recent feature is the Soundhound Interactive Map, wherein users can explore new songs, see coverart, listen to previews, download and stream in real-time popular songs both locally and globally. Amazingly, Soundhound is continuously being improved so that users can have a different and elevated experience of music using their mobile devices.
